The story of Ching Shih Dark Spiced is rooted in the fascinating history of Ching Shih herself. Ching Shi was a legendary pirate active in the South China Sea in the 19th century. She was known for her exceptional leadership qualities and powerful fleet of hundreds of ships and tens of thousands of pirates. The Pirate Queen’s legacy as one of the most successful has inspired the creation of Ching Shih Dark Spiced, which captures the essence of her strength and power.

The rum is aged in French and American oak and sherry casks. This aging gives the spirit added depth and complexity, allowing the flavors to develop and mature over time.

Gastronomic combinations: a unique combination of rum flavors, including ginger, Sichuan pepper and other herbal components, gives a unique touch to classic cocktail recipes. The combination of vanilla, cinnamon and other spices creates a rich aroma that improves the overall taste of culinary creations.

Dead Man's Fingers Coconut Rum is made using a blend of Caribbean Rums as well as spices that have been added. It is created by The Rum & Crab Shack in St. Ives, which serves fresh sea food with Rum! This particular drink is produced around the brilliant, tropical flavour of Coconuts, which can be enjoyed neat, or mixed in various drinks!

El Dorado 12-Year Rum is composed of a blend of aged rums, all at least 12 years old. The rums are distilled using a combination of stills including double wooden pot stills and are aged in bourbon oak casks.Demerara Distillers of Guyana produces El Dorado 12-year rum and is the country’s last remaining distillery, with origins tracing back to 1670. The name “”El Dorado”” references the legendary city of gold that is said to be in the country’s Rupununi region.

This is a dark rum (and a fairly dusky one at that. Aged up to eight years, it’s got some coffee, cinnamon, and cloves on the nose — along with some raisin notes. Quite savory on the tongue — those bitching about Exclusiva being too sweet can check this out — the coffee notes filter down to dusky charcoal, barrel char, some raisin, and a bit of dark chocolate. Sugar is almost an afterthought here. If you like your rum chewy and filtered through the dank haze of wood, this is your jam. For me though, it’s a bit one-note. 80 proof
