Jura 12 Year Old – 70 cl

The core of the Jura range, aged for 12 years in bourbon casks and then finished in Oloroso sherry. The result blends the distillery's characteristic gently smoky character with sweetness, spice and dark fruit. A great introduction to Jura.

NOSE: Smouldering cocoa nibs and rich rice pudding. Baked apples follow, sprinkled with spice and raisins, and drizzled with creamy chocolate sauce. Leathery touches develop.

PALATE: Rich and rounded, with an initial burst of barrel char halted by milk-chocolate-covered raisins and toffee sauce. The char rumbles along behind, rising at the end with a plume of soft peat smoke.

FINISH: Smoky bonfire-baked apples fade to leave a hint of mint and menthol.

One of the world's most popular blends, and the best-selling Scotch whisky in Scotland. Famous Grouse is a very nicely balanced, malty blend which was first made in 1896, and would go on to be known as The Famous Grouse, with the name registered in 1905. Johnnie Walker 18 Year Old (or "Aged 18 Years") is a terrific blended Scotch whisky from the world-famous range, which features a combination of up to 18 different whiskies, including the likes of Cardhu, Glen Elgin, Auchroisk and Blair Athol, among others. Carefully created by master blender Jim Beveridge, this expression packs bags of creamy vanilla, vibrant fruit and runny honey, alongside soft wisps of smoke.  Back in the days of yore and yonder, this was known as Johnnie Walker Platinum Label.

Nose: Honeyed cereals, Cadbury's Fruit and Nut, distant bonfire smoke, clementine and spring blossom.

Palate: Peanut brittle, candied peels, plump sultana, a whisper of floral malt gives it an aromatic mid-palate, before giving way to a whisper of dry, earthy smoke.

Finish: Another wave of honey, with a soft hint of cinnamon spiciness.

Swing features an elevated amount of Speyside malts, balanced by malts from the northern Highlands and Islay. On the tongue it starts off a bit sweet and then the spicy notes take affect mid-palate which exposes the smoke and peat. It has a smooth lingering smoke and spice finish. The result is a luxurious flavor that's light in the foreground, with sweet mouth-watering depth developing on the palate.
