The indigenous and rare Trepat grapes, by contrast, are low altitude, low sugar grapes that ripen mid harvest, delivering lower alcohol levels upon fermentation. The Trepat grape is only planted over 1,000 acres, unique to the soil conditions and climate of the Penedes region of Catalonia, Spain.
