Loch Lomond Original Single Malt – 70 cl

The Loch Lomond whisky is a single malt Scotch whisky from the Highlands with 40% volume. Fresh and fruity, with a subtle hint of smoke, the Loch Lomond offers an excellent taste experience at a reasonable price. The distillery does not reveal any details about the age of this bottling. The blue label of the Loch Lomond whisky only says "Aged in Old Oak Casks". The Loch Lomond Blue Label is a no-age statement whisky that is bottled at a young age.

Nose: Dark, warm leather, notes of sweetness, malt, hint of wood aromas.

Taste: Creamy, malty, sweet muesli, notes of nuts, hint of citrus aromas.

Finish: Long-lasting, sweet, hint of dark molasses, citrus.

The standard release of Highland Queen blended Scotch whisky, named after Mary Queen of Scots. Like much of the range, it offers very good value for money.

Nose: Some dark honey, caramel, allspice, cooked apples and pear drops.

Palate: Crisp apples now, nougat, more honey, subtle vanilla, perhaps even some tarragon.

Finish: Clean and quite short.

Tasting Notes: On the nose, butterscotch and plump raisin, with spiced apple crumble and oak spice.

On the palate, dried fruits galore, with a dusting of cinnamon, candied ginger and orange peel. More warming ginger alongside a drizzle of honey and buttery caramel on the finish.

Nose: Honey and heather with thick caramel notes and a subtle nutmeg spice. Dried meadow flowers and a hint of fresh banana.

Palate: Smooth and succulent with a honeyed sweetness that's typical of Johnnie Walker. There's more to this though, the floral elements are quite prominent and there's a spiced sweet vanilla note too.

Finish: Long, sweet and toffee-like.

Overall: A typically easy drinking blend from Johnnie Walker, this will not disappoint fans of the style.
