Tequila Dos Mexicanos Silver comes from the state of Jalisco. Here, the key ingredient of the drink, the blue agave, also known as “agave tequiliana”, grows in ideal conditions. Due to its ability to accumulate water during the rainy season, the agave does not need watering. The small agave reaches maturity only after 7-9 years.
The mature agave is stripped of its leaves and the agave head is removed from the ground. Harvesting the agave is called “jima”. The agave is exposed to hot steam, which softens the texture and converts the agave starch into sugars needed for alcoholic fermentation. The juice, fermented in steel tanks, is double distilled.
