Founded in 1998, Achaval-Ferrer is a team of friends who dream about great wines. Achaval-Ferrer is also a collection of old vineyards in beautiful places. They are committed to the production of wines that are expressive of their terroir. They are a small winery because this is the key to top quality. Low yields allow the vineyards to express their personality in the grapes. Low intervention winemaking allows the grapes to fully express their vineyard in the bottle. Each of their wines is a different expresson of Malbec: The Mendoza Malbec is about varietal tipicity. Their Quimera blend is about Malbec as the key to complexity and balance.

Tasting Notes

A deeply nuanced wine, scented with notes winding from earth and boulder, the dark fruit, up to delicate rosemary hints. It is ample in the palate, with delicious and almost feminine acidity.

Amazingly round for a Sauvignon Blanc, this wine develops aromas of yellow lemon, ripe white pear and slightly bitter aromas of orange peel. Medium body, round yet refreshing, this wine has a delicate, mouth-watering medium acidity that pleasantly persist after sipping.

Palate: Round, fruity with low acidity, fresh aftertaste and hints of bitter orange notes, slightly creamy.

Surprisingly fresh, this massive full-bodied wine shows aromas of dried plum, violet, dried herbs, clove, hints of undergrowth and some chocolate and coffee notes. The length is exceptional, and its smokiness last on the tongue for up to 15 caudalies!

A medium bodied wine with a ruby color. Beautiful aromas of blackberries & plums with interesting hints of black pepper & cinnamon.

Deep garnet colour, almost pitch black, with ruby hues. Round, powerful with well-balanced tannins, this full body wine displays notes of dark fruits (plum, cherry, blackcurrant) combined with a savoury panel of soft spices such as liquorice, clove, black pepper and nutmeg. The final if long, dry and so powerful.
